About Nality
Nality is an iPhone app for tracking calories and water. Its main idea is simple: a calorie number is only useful if you can tell where it came from. So every food shows its source, a value that is not known is shown as missing instead of zero, and anything an AI estimated is labelled as an estimate.
Ways to log food
- Scan a barcode. Packaged foods are matched against food databases.
- Photograph a nutrition label. Nality reads the values printed on the pack.
- Search. Everyday foods, ranked so the real thing appears before obscure products.
- Describe a meal by typing or speaking. Each food you name is looked up in the databases first.
- Photograph a meal. This gives an AI estimate, labelled as one, which you can edit before saving.
Where the numbers come from
Government and open food databases, not guesses. See where the data comes from and how AI estimates work.
Free and Pro
Manual logging is always free, and every day you also get a few scans, searches and water logs. Pro removes the daily limits on photo and label scanning, with a fair-use ceiling set far above what a person uses in a day. See the terms for details.
Accounts and privacy
You do not need an account to use Nality or to subscribe. If you want your log backed up so it survives a new phone, you can sign in with Apple from Settings. There are no passwords. Read the privacy policy for exactly what is collected, or delete your account from Settings at any time.
Availability
Nality is on iPhone. It is not on Android yet.
Not medical advice
Nality is a tracking tool. It is not a substitute for a doctor or dietitian, so talk to a qualified professional about any medical or dietary decision.
